Meals on Wheels of Brighton, Colorado is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a hot, well-balanced noon-time meal to older adults in the Brighton area. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday.
Who is Eligible for Meals on Wheels?
Meals are available to older adults in the Brighton area needing this service. Examples of those in need may be:
- The elderly person who is unable to shop or prepare meals for him or herself.
- The chronically ill or handicapped.
- Persons temporarily indisposed following illness, surgery, or accidents.
What is the Cost?
The cost is $4.25 per meal, payable at the end of the month. If persons in the program are in need and simply cannot afford the $4.25, adjustments to the cost will be made.
In many cases, arrangements and payments for meals are made by children concerned about their parents’ nutritional needs.
The program is funded in part by client contributions, private donations, and fundraising efforts.
